Staging, Choreography, Conceptual Design

Tyler Edrington

Tyler Edrington was introduced to the marching arts activity in his hometown of Ooltewah, TN with the Ooltewah High School Marching Band from 2004-2008. After graduating, his color guard performance career continued with Phantom Regiment 2008 - 2010, Carolina Crown 2011, Capella Winter Guard 2010 and Paramount Winter Guard 2011 - 2012.

Tyler currently resides in Tampa, FL with his fiancée, Molly, where he is a choreographer and instructor for Tarpon Springs High School.  Tyler is also a designer and choreographer for many prestigious independent and scholastic color guard programs including Paramount Winter Guard, University of South Florida Winter Guard, East Coweta, Desert Vista, Pope, Signal Mountain, Chantilly, River Bluff and Burleson-Centennial High School.

From 2012 - 2020, Tyler was the primary color guard designer, choreographer and caption head with Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps.

Tyler now serves as the color guard caption supervisor for Carolina Crown for the 2021 season.

Staging

Andrew Ebert

Andrew was surrounded by music and the marching arts from a young age. He studied piano and trumpet and spent time at the Interlochen Center for the Fine Arts. His marching experience began with the Milford Marching band from Highland, MI and continued on to the DCI level with the Glassmen and Blue Devils.

Following his age-out season (2004) he joined the staff of the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps and the Plymouth Canton Education Park Marching Band. He served in the role of visual caption head for both programs. Crown placed in the top 4 in visual each of his years as caption head (2007-2011) and the corps saw an improvement from 8th place to 2nd place in the span of 3 years.

In 2012, he began to expand his role as a designer in the summer activity with the Madison Scouts, Troopers, and Crossmen. A few highlights include the Troopers 2013 season, which saw the corps go from 18th to 13th and the Madison Scouts 2015 season, where the corps had its highest placement in a decade. From 2017 - 2020, Andrew was the visual designer for Crossmen.

In the marching band world, he has been a part of programs all around the country including state champions, BOA Regional champions, BOA Grand Nationals class champions and medalists, BOA Super Regional Finalists, and BOA Grand National Finalists.

He has also served as a designer in the WGI world including multiple world class finalists in both PIW and PSW. This included helping Plymouth Canton Percussion (PSW) and Redline (PIW) make World class finals in both of their first seasons competing in WGI.

Andrew has a secondary education degree from Western Michigan University and lives in Greenville, SC with his beautiful wife, two children, and two dogs.

Equipment & Movement Choreography

Kaysey Thompson

Kaysey Leigh Thompson is an active choreographer and color guard instructor hailing originally from from Boston, MA. Clients have included The Crossmen, The Madison Scouts, The Blue Knights, McNeil High School, Claudia Taylor Johnson High School,  Origins Winterguard, Eklipse Winterguard, Paramount Winterguard, Westlake High School, Cedar Ridge High School and Carolina Crown for 2021.

Kaysey began her dance and color guard training at 5 years old, performing with a local winter guard directed by her parents. In the years since, she has performed with several WGI and DCI groups including St. Ann’s World, SCV Winterguard, The Cadets and The Crossmen.  Along with color guard, Kaysey has an extensive background in stage and film. Kaysey spent 15 years touring and performing with Blast!, Shockwave, and Blast: MIX, Blast: The Music of Disney and has appeared in projects with Walt Disney Studios, NBC, and Fox Television. 

Kaysey currently resides in Austin, TX.  Since transitioning from a stage performer role, she holds a position on the choreographic and instructional team for Blast: The Music of Disney, in addition to acting as the Visual Ensemble supervisor.

Equipment & Movement Choreography

Brian Winn

Brian Winn, a native of Rock Hill, SC, began his performing experience in the marching arts playing trumpet and performing in his high school winter guard. He then went on to march in the color guard at Capital Regiment in 2004 and Phantom Regiment in 2006 and 2007, where he aged out. In the winter seasons, Brian performed with Étude Winter Guard and Phantom Regiment Winter Guard.  

Brian has had the honor of teaching and designing for various programs including WGI Scholastic A Finalist East Lincoln High School, Northwest Guilford High School, BOA Grand National Finalist Dobyns Bennett High School, and Independent Open Finalist Tampa Independent. He is currently the color guard director at Marvin Ridge High School and Étude Winter Guard.  Brian also serves as an at-large member of the Executive Board for the Carolina Winter Ensemble Association.  Brian taught on the color guard staff for 5 years at the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, where he served as a caption head in 2017, Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps from 2018-2020 and Carolina Crown in 2021.

Through the marching arts, Brian discovered a passion for dance and thus went on to receive his degree in Dance Education from Winthrop University. He has performed professionally with Plexus Dance and Caroline Calouche & Company, where he trained, performed, and taught aerial dance as well as contemporary dance.  Additionally, he was cast in Martha Graham’s Panorama where he had the honor of working with former Graham dancer, Kim Jones.  As a public school dance educator, Brian taught middle and high school in both North and South Carolina.  Most recently, he was on the dance faculty at Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte, NC where his teaching was focused in contemporary dance technique, improvisation, and dance composition. Currently, Brian is pursuing his MFA in Dance Choreography at the University of North Carolina Greensboro where he is a Senior Teaching Assistant and Graduate Teaching Fellow. His research and choreographic interests are rooted in the intersections of gender/sexuality and dance performance. As a teacher, he aims to foster an inclusive community where individuals feel empowered through diverse approaches and perspectives on dance.

Graphic Design

Molly Favret

Molly’s love for the marching arts began in 2005 performing with the Alan C. Pope High School color guard, earning two WGI World Championship medals in 2008 and 2009. She went on to perform at the world class level with Crown Guard, Paramount Winter Guard and Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps. Molly proudly spent five seasons performing with Paramount from their inception in 2011 until 2017 when she decided to focus on teaching color guard in the Southeast and run her own graphic design business from home.

Over the years, Molly has had the pleasure of designing flags, floors, props, logos and costuming for prestigious programs in the marching arts activity. In January 2020, Molly became a stretchwear artist for Fred J. Miller Inc.

Some of her most recent design clients include: Boswell HS, Desert Vista HS, ConneXus, Signal Mountain HS, North Shore HS, Rock Island HS, Green Hope HS, McEachern HS, Burleson-Centennial HS, Jamestown HS, Science Hill HS, Cypress Springs HS, Soddy-Daisy HS, Clear Brook HS, Kettering Fairmont HS, Tarpon Springs HS, Grapevine HS, Mill Creek HS and Argyle HS. 

Molly enjoys utilizing social media as a tool for marketing performers to feel like rockstars and create strong brands for marching arts programs. This began in 2011 while working in media and merchandising at Carolina Crown until 2014. She has since continued to help grow social media platforms for other programs such as Crossmen Color Guard, Paramount Winter Guard, Tarpon Springs HS Color Guard and Carolina Crown Color Guard.

In 2014, Molly began managing and designing for the color guard caption at Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps and joined the design team in 2015 specializing in costuming and graphic design for the corps until 2020.

Molly earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Kennesaw State University with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Dance. She now lives with her fiancé, Tyler Edrington in Tampa, Florida where she is also a color guard instructor at Tarpon Springs High School and a consultant for Carolina Crown.

Soundtrack Design

Andrew Markworth

Andrew Markworth is a composer, arranger, and consultant writing for marching bands, indoor percussion and winds groups and drum corps all over the world.

He is currently the music director for Rhythm X; both the 3 time gold medalist percussion group (2008, 2009, 2013) and the 4 time gold medalist winds group (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019).  Andrew was the Front Ensemble Arranger/Coordinator for Carolina Crown from 2007-2014 and the music arranger/coordinator for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps from San Antonio, TX until 2020.

Andrew is a Yamaha Performing Artist and a proud endorser of Zildjian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads, and Promark Drumsticks which produces his signature mallet collection.

He currently resides in Centerville, Ohio with his wife Kara, daughter Natalie, and son Brady.

Videographer

Rico Gomez

Rico Gomez has been fortunate to combine his passion for both the creative and marching arts over the past decade. His marching arts performance experience began in high school in Mission, TX. He then went on to perform with the Bobcat Marching Band and Pasic Indoor Ensemble at Texas State University and the Crossmen Drum Corps.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre with a focus in Television/Film from The University of Texas-Pan American (now UTRGV) and has worked with a number of venues and production teams across South Texas covering various production events ranging from professional sporting events, comedy shows, concerts, and live broadcast events.

He served various roles with the Crossmen Drum Corps administrative team including Tour Director from 2009-2019 and during that time helped expand and direct their social media presence as well as produced the organization’s tour DVD (2014-2017). In 2019, Rico was inducted into the Crossmen Hall of Fame. 

Rico currently resides in San Antonio, TX, and is looking forward to continuing to highlight and promote the marching arts activity through visual media.
